The rocket-powered Me 163 Komet was an exceedingly difficult aircraft to employ effectively in combat. Its speed, combined with the short range of its 30mm cannon, made firing opportunities difficult to achieve. Fighter battles were rare, though on at least one occasion Komets bounced and shot down Mustangs.
